UF Quick Throw: Defoe Deal Done.

Lots of reports this morning that Jermaine Defoe's return to Tottenham Hotspur is done, and just relies on a routine medical today. The exact fee is unknown but believed to be in the region of 15 million. Spurs will not have to shell out the full amount however, as Portsmouth still owe Spurs some cashola from the purchase of Youness Kabul. Defoe could be unveiled at White Hart Lane tonight as Spurs take on Burnley in the first leg of the Carling Cup semi final.

Pompey also owes money on Defoe and Mendes, so the fee may say $15 mil, but with all of Pompey's obligations to Spurs, it's probably a lot less.

Even so, I love that you're buying him back a year after shipping him off. It's the joy of switching managers mid-season, I suppose.

I love January transfer windows! Always something new, always something unexpected! It's like waking up on Christmas morning . . . 31 days in a row!

Or the complete opposite.

It is a bit of a larf, LB. The Juande thing should never have happened. But it did, and he was allowed to remake the squad, which was, and is, a disaster. So 'Arry's trying to right those wrongs. If your lot are done with Keane, we'll take him, too....
