Showdown in Chinatown -- More to Come

Just a quick teaser for the full recap coming this afternoon from Lingering Bursitis. It was a fantastic afternoon, the sort of event that barely seemed real. Luckily, we have visual proof that it really did happen. Jozy, Titi and Reyna on a humid, sunny day in New York. [Updated with hi-res pic]

I still can't believe that Titi turned down my marriage proposal. I don't think you actually told him about it, dammit!

screw your proposal; I just want to know whether Titi might be open to Calret and Blue as opposed to Blaugrana for the 08/09 campaign.

Dammit, Claret, not Calret

Keith... he's staying put. Sorry.

Barcelona to Birmingham? Hmmm . . .

Titi is smarter than that.

Didn't Monty Python make fun of Birmingham being the third world? Or was that Yorkshire? I'm too lazy to wikipedia.

I can see Titi coming to MLS after a few more seasons, especially if his back keeps him from playing at full strength. I have repeatedly said that I'm fine with MLS being a retirement home for aging superstars -- at least it would make the league more compelling until the level of play is on par with Europe.

Absolutely - I would love tits in MLS.

Wait, what?

but. . . but . . .no one wants to play for Barca anymore! there's disarray! unrest! dissention! LOUD NOISES!!

And I wouldn't be surprised if Python called Brum the third world. Up till recently, it kinda was. Why else did Sabbath sound so freaking awesome if not for growing up in a crap city? That's also, by the way, the explanation for the Beatles dominating the world; you can't get more crap than Liverpool (unless you're at Tyneside- we can all be united in our hatred of the barcodes, non?)

Keith: but Newcastle gave us Ant & Dec.

Ergo, you're wrong.

PS. I will find you and hunt you for these Liverpool remarks. Beware!

Found this clip on the YouTubes. Sadly, not mine.

Please, please, please come to the MLS in a few years Titi! Drew Carrey will surely part with enough Price Is Right money to make it worth your while.

yeah, but Sting's also a Geordie. And before he became master of the lute and panflute, he was the in the best white-boy reggae group this side of UB40 and Snow.

And I'm from Jersey, so you can dispense all of the jokes about the Garden State that you wish. And our analogues for this little game are Bruce and Frank, NOT that Bon Jovi guy
