UF would like to take the opportunity during this lull in Euro 2008 to say thanks to all of the visitors that have been coming to the site--new and old. And commenters, we love the comments so thanks for taking the time to comment as well. We have had a large growth in the number of visitors and we hope that we have provided the coverage you want. UF strives to cover the good and bad of the footballing/soccering/futboling world and have a laugh with it as well. We hope that has happened.
We've been liveblogging the shit out of Euro 2008 and offering up other tasty jelly-coated morsels for two weeks now. I may only speak for myself, but I have to say I am a bit tired now. It has all been worth it though. After the conclusion of Euro 2008, we'll be back to our regular selves and hope you all stick around for the fun.
We plan on offering some more introspective and in-depth pieces during the summer period along with our usual fare. And then, before we know it, the league seasons will begin anew. If you have anything in particular that you would like to see covered a bit more, feel free to drop us a line at unprofessionalfoul[at]gmail[dot]com. Your tips and links are also appreciated.
Again, thanks for stopping by, we hope you have enjoyed it and will continue to return.
UPDATE: Apparently, this post reads like a eulogy. Just so you know fair readers, UF is not going anywhere except right into the stratosphere of popularity thanks to your patronage. So, thanks for visiting but don't fucking leave. It's not last call just yet. And, we at UF are all drunks so it never is really last call for us.

jesus christ this reads like a eulogy.
but no no, thank you, for providing entertainment during these games for people stuck in an office.
less than a month until the preseason games start up!
needs more bewbs
Needs more stories of your affliction for eating....
Beer's on me...except for the spurs fans of course...just kidding, we always are kind to the less fortunate.
@moonshine: Well, that can be arranged.
No, thank yous guys. I've missed the last several games because I've been out of town but I, for one, am pants-crappingly excited for Wednesday's game and its ability to prevent me from doing work. Also, I hope by "more introspective and in-depth pieces" you mean more stuff like this:

As a fairly new visitor to the site, a lurker in the comments section, and someone who is still learning about the game... thank you for doing such a great job, allowing me to follow the Euro games from work, and, of course, for all the pictures of hot girls. I look forward to more. Especially since I need people to talk about league soccer with. My West Ham fandom doesn't have much of an outlet.
"So thanks for visiting, but don't fucking leave."
/Misery + Hotel California?
hey chad, stay tuned...we are going to be doing some stuff for newcomers to the beautiful game.
note: i really don't like the name "the beautiful game." it's ok, i suppose, but it ain't always beautiful. i like "the world's game."
Yes, we have lots in store for the summer months once Spain wraps up this Euro '08 trophy thing.
I had to take the day off today after an exhausting weekend. A friend of mine who bet heavy on Russia came up trumps, and I had to help him spend the winnings.
Will be back tomorrow though!
@The Fan's Attic: Thanks! I'll be looking forward to those.
I stumbled upon UF at the beginning of the Euros, and I haven't stopped laughing since. Thank you guys for covering the tournament (and the often dodgy ESPN coverage of the tournament) in such an entertaining way. I'll definitely stick around to read what you have coming during the season!
UF has very quickly become one of the sites I check without even thinking about it every couple of hours in hope you've got something new up.
I'm trying hard to get excited for the next season, but i'm sure you guys will make the transition all the more pleasant.
Shit, Joep you're not going to make have to cover the Eredivisie are you? They don't broadcast that over here.
We just kind of assume Ajax or PSV will win the thing while we wait for the better players to end up in the PL.
No rest for the wicked...
what, you're not interested in the Whacky Adventures of Second Choice Steve in the Low Countries?
sleep well mr. smeets, i have setanta, watch plenty of eredivisie, and have just about finished reading "brilliant orange." that, and my boys are about to jack PSV's keeper. Ik hou van Nederlands voetbal (that make sense??)
thanks for all the work...this has become a must-check site each day, even moreso with the live game-blogs the last 2 weeks...
likely lad, linguistically (does that make sense?), that makes perfect sense. Football wise, not so much. Look out for my team next year, though, Roda JC. Sort of the Dutch equivalent of your Spurs. Pretty decent lot...never really gets anywhere.
in all serious... thanks. Without you all, we'd be nothing but a bunch of degenerate Scousers and Gooners with nothing better to do than fight [well, scuffle over email, but we do what we can].
