UF Quick Throw: Wenger chases a baby-faced Russian

So it's official: Arsenal want Arshavin. Having watched Spurs flame out with one Zenit St. Petersburg striker, why on earth do they think this one will pan out? Little Andrei looks set to become the latest player to have one good international tournament and then profit. I still have nightmares about El-Hadji Diouf's spell at Anfield.

That should solve their central midfield problems

Not sure I like Arshavin - would've preferred a move for Arteta first. Perhaps AW sees our deficiencies as creative upfront, which in turn leads to our shallow center mid and back line being exploited.

I'm trying to see where Arshavin fits in our current 4-4-2/4-2-3-1 (sometimes) formations. Vela has been playing well enough to warrant a start on the left; Nasri has been moving from the right to the center behind the strikers as a Number 10 the past few games. Arshavin may only be a move as insurance for Walcott, but if so, Wenger should review the policy.
