UF Quick Throw: Palacios to Spurs

In a shrewd piece of business that would make Bernie Madoff quite proud, it appears that Wigan will get a 1400% annual return on their investment by selling Wilson Palacios to Spurs for £14 million -- after having purchased him for only £1 million one year ago.

Perhaps that 'Arry has landed his white whale--a left-footed winger--he can do a few things that will actually help the club win: play Bentley at the correct position, for once this season, use Aaron "No Final Ball Whatsoever" Lennon off the bench as a supersub, and for the love of Edgar Davids, buy a f*cking CDM to solidify the damn midfield.

Help me out Phil, what's the source of the font of money that Spurs seem to be able to continually tap?

My Championship Manager tells me Palacios is not worth that much.

@Andrew: Just wait for the January patch to come out. Speaking of which, I can't get my copy CM 2009 to install properly on my Mac. I'm convinced this is probably a good thing.

@PR:

We've got the third or fourth wealthiest owner in EPL in Joe Lewis. Plus, we never really turned around a lot of the 50 mil we netted from selling Berbatov and Keane.

According to Forbes, Lewis the 368th richest person in the world, with a personal net worth of $2.5 billon.

Duh.. forgot about Berbatov. I was thinking the Keane money all went back out with Pavs and Bentley.
