Friday Backpasses: Cool graphs

Villareal pledge to hang on to Jozy [Sky Sports]
Best female soccer player in world signs with WPS(L) [LA Times]
How Berbs is blowing it for Man U [BBC]
Sure, it's Arsenal-centric, but this is pretty damn funny stuff about Bolton [Arseblog]

Finally:
Guy from England's ninth level into final group for a spot on Seattle Sounders. This is just so embarrassing to me that a MLS squad spot some window glazer (maybe) from Thornaby. Any idea what the show is that they are referencing? [Gazette Live]

Anyone want to do me a solid and give me text updates of the 'pool game tomorrow? I have to drive back to Pennsylvania and sadly will miss it if I want to get back at a respectable hour.

Turns out I'm an idiot and can't figure out how to send a PM on here. But if anyone checks this, my number is 704-650-9009 and any score updates would be most appreciated.

The Show is called "Seattle Sounders FC SuperSearch." Go to youtube for commercials. See the first episode online here:

From the Yahoo! liveblog of the gooners-SF Bolton match:

Bolton came here to defend and Arsenal are making their task easier than it should be. Wenger's men have showed a lack of imagination thus far and will need to find some inspiration in the second period.

Ouch.

Adam, posted this a few posts ago (also, congrats on the 9-1):

Best week of my picks ever: I went 6-4, but yet again with no exact scores...this psychic business is surprisingly harder than I imagined, despite seeing ads for them everywhere...

here goes absolute shite:

Aston Villa 3-1 West Bromwich
Everton 2-1 Hull City
Fulham 2-0 Blackburn Rovers (this hurts me)
Middlesbrough 0-2 Sunderland
Newcastle United 2-1 West Ham
Portsmouth 1-3 Manchester City
Arsenal 2-1 Bolton Wanderers
Stoke City 0-3 Liverpool
Wigan 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Manchester United 2-2 Chelsea

too many beers in to be doing this. I presume that means I'll go 9-1... :)

Bendtner of all people, nicely done for Arse

Adam said...

You need too many beers in you and it needs to be stupid late to go 9-1

How did Stoke NOT put that in?

Pool begins with Torres and Keane on the bench. Predictably, they have seen most of the ball, but have nothing to show for it. Rafa is truly a puzzling man.

reina caught out of the box too often. is he playing at gomes today?

jjf3 said...

WTF is going on with Pool? I take my dogs to the groomers and come back at 65 minutes into the game, and its STILL 0-0...

phil said...

John, if you had Michael Dawson in front of you at centre-half, you'd find yourself off your line too often, as well. Gomes is often forced out by inept defending by Dawson, Bale, and BAE.

Thanks for the updates.

Sadly I ended up flipping my car in PA last night and totaled it, so I guess pool drawing wasn't the worst thing that happened to me ... maybe

jjf3, i dunno its so frustrating to play a stoke city, and see yossi starting and kuyt at the lone central striker role, then he takes out riere not yossi. you already know xabi is out what are you doing??? WE MUST GET POINTS!!!

then of course, its the game after the tirade and Stoke is pushing us around the whole first half and we get no calls and looky there, Lampard gets a yellow on a questionable call 3 min in, and ManU runs out a B team and crushes Chelski...

i love rafa and he miles better than any gaffer we've had in some time, but running out a not your best squad after that interview?

what was expected?
