While his first yellow was undeserved, he was absolutely an idiot to even speak to the ref after that. I couldn't see who it was, but 1 of his teammates tried to stop from going toward the ref, but gave up after 2 seconds. If I'm on the pitch at that point, I tackle Mascherano to keep from speaking to the ref.
Oh, and Pepe Reina looked like he was shitting his pants on every shot/set-piece. What a miserable performance.
