Belated UEFA Cup thread

Does anyone watch Little Cup?

A ton of the matches have already concluded, probably due to being played in countries so tiny and scattered that they have their own provincial timezones. However, it's not over just yet!

Everton v. Standard Liege just kicked off, as did Spurs at home to Wizla Krakow, which should be fun as they're missing new signings Pavlyuchenko and Corluka (both cup-tied... good transfers, then), and Modric who already has a knee injury.

Starting XIs and the rest of the scores after the jump.

Get ready for some bad news, all you Omonia Nicosia fans...

Did I really miss 2 goals when I stepped away from Tottenham v. Something Polish (I think) for all of 4 minutes?

Clearly interest in the UEFA Cup isn't really that strong, judging by all the comments.

Yobo scored an og to give Liege a 2-1 lead, and 5 minutes later, Castillo tied it up for Everton.

Everton 2, Standard Liege 2

Meanwhile, Spurs did the same thing; took the lead and watched it disappear within 120 seconds. Bentley scored for Tottenham, then Jirsak leveled it.

Spurs 1, Wisla Krakow 1

Also, Baros has scored twice and Kewell once for Galatasaray tonight, who are beating Bellinzona.

yessir, you did miss 2 goals in that game, and 2 goals in the Everton game.

Also, I'd like to think people aren't commenting because they're all down the pub intently watching all the action.

Keith (if you're out there)... thoughts on Villa tonight? Good result against a team I think is make-believe based on their name.

Okay... because even at 4 minutes I thought I was being generous. I miss all the fun. What am I saying, it's Tottenham. Nothing fun about that.

apparently, Spurs led for 67 seconds. This sounds about right for them

Good result, crap performance. The team really missed Young Webcam and Carew.

That said, goals from Petrov and Reo-Coker are nothing to sneeze at. Petrov's was even from inside the box! He normally blasts it 10 feet over the bar. Plus, lesser teams would have gotten tripped up by this match. Second straight road game, derby coming up and off of a brilliant result in London. . .

Sets us up for a nice easy return leg, so we can get back down to focus on WBA, QPR and Keano's Micks to prepare us for the Bridge and a second London win.

Finally a win for Spurs!

Against Wisla.

I just hope they can contain Heskey.

Sigh.
