dont like the expansion at all. one of the charms of the euros was that it wasnt a quarter full of togos and paraguays and americas, teams that cant compete. if you want to open up a spot for a good team get rid of the retarded joint host shit.

plus if you have an extra knockout round you have less of a chance of a turkey or greece getting through on momentum alone

im sure its just a ploy for more money, but now there wont be any intriguing stories like england missing the tournament. terrible terrible decision.

Well Benitez has had so much success with the last player he stole from Spurs, so why not? Plus, like Ramos he'll probably decide Bale is a winger, and waste his talents in an attacking role.

In all seriousness, though, Benitez can feck off. Leave Spurs alone.

@ Georger: I agree. Not having every power - if you consider England a current power - in the Euros makes for more exciting football. More than anything I like these scrappy, undermanned, but talented teams making deep runs. The football seems to be better . . . two teams with everything to gain are a better match-up than two who have everything to lose.

So why expand to 24? I'll quote "Why Hip-Hop Sucks in '96" by DJ Shadow . . . "it's the money."
