UF Quick Throw: Lula gets cheeky with Obama

Yuk it up, fat boy. You'll be drinking your next cachaça with Allende after this stunt...

Developing nation Brazil refuses to sign on to any real climate control agreement, but that doesn't mean President Lula didn't crash the G8 bearing gifts. The globular Union leader turned populist political hero greeted President Obama today with his country's signature strip... signed by all the members of the Confederations Cup team. Get it? Time to get the CIA into Brasilia. If this isn't grounds for a coup, I don't what is.

Obama reportedly guaranteed the USMNT would never again blow a 2-0 halftime lead to the Brazilians. Well!

WWOS: Who Would Obama Support, Part Deux

It has been rumored previously that US President Barack Obama is a West Ham fan. UF doesn't buy that rumor, but was not able to come to a consensus on which club he would support. Although, the Arsenal argument was rejected rather dismissively.

However, at this time further evidence has come to light suggesting he may have more than a passing familiarity with Anglo-Franco club of North London. In a NBC News special on the Obama White House, the cameras caught the President's knowing glance of a young lad in an Arsenal kit, a Titi jersey no less.

This evidence surely should put to rest all speculation, right? No. Well, then lets just add this to the silly season rumors.

Check out the video of the event here (4:34 mark) or here (6:26 mark).

Or just watch this video.

Obama Is An Eastbourne Fool.

Obama: Fantasy fan.

U.S President Barack Obama is an Eastbourne Fan. How is this possible you cry. Well, Mr Obama's cousin Achtog Laprifolo plays for Eastbourne and according to the Blue square Premier League official site, and to Eastbourne's official site, The President is going to be at Priory Lane this Saturday for the game vs Ebbsfleet.

Wowser, oh wait, yeah, I geddit!

Achtog Laprifolo That's an anagram of 'April Fool Gotcha'. The sites mentioned above yanked their prank early after a phone call from someone representing the President one suspects.

Mr Obama is currently in England for the G20 summit.

UF and Eastbourne FC were not the only ones playing tricks yesterday. After the jump, some more footy April fools from around the leagues.

Capello also requested that the badge on the new England shirt be put higher than usual to avoid rubbing on players' nipples. (Daily Star)

Port Vale are to change their name to Burslem Port Vale next season, and have unveiled a new badge suspiciously similar in outline to rivals Stoke's. (Port Vale official website)

Several clubs have revealed new shirts today - such as York's one-off purple shirt to be worn at the FA Trophy final, Lewes's one-off green and black shirt to mark the announcement of the South Downs as a National Park, a new pink home shirt for Crewe and Wigan's switch to red and white halves next season to reflect a kit worn in 1932.

Bury are to raise some much-needed revenue by staging a Monster Truck racing weekend on their Gigg Lane pitch, where the trucks will go head-to-head with the groundsman's tractor. (Bury official website)

Wolves chief executive Jez Moxey is in talks to star in the next series of Strictly Come Dancing, alongside Hungarian sensation Lora Pliof. (Wolves official website)

Barnsley will pioneer a Football League initiative whereby their players and managers will wear microphones wired up to the Oakwell PA system as part of an anti-swearing campaign. (Barnsley official website)

Accrington Stanley have offered former Premier League referee Jeff Winter the role of stadium development manager, after he recently criticised the facilities at their ground. (Accrington official website)

And finally... injuries, suspensions and illness are causing several managers and coaches to come out of retirement for this weekend's games - including Swansea manager Roberto Martinez, Walsall assistant manager Martin O'Connor and Barnsley coach Kelham O'Hanlon.

All of these pranks were highlighted by the BBC yesterday.

Pink Floyd and Barack Obama Join Forces to Thwart Chelsea

Roman Abramovich.... Ha, ha! Charade you are.

Anyway, that's the Battersea Power Plant, famous mostly for being on the cover of Pink Floyd's Animals. The plant, and not so much the band, is relevant as there's land near there which might be the center of a tussle between CFC and the US of A.

The president of the United States doesn't care what happens to you. If "you" in this case happen to be the owner of Chelsea FC. So just zig zag away, bitch.

From the Daily Mail:

US President Barack Obama might have the final say on the location of a new Chelsea stadium. If the club decide to move from Stamford bridge, a site in Nine Elms near Battersea Power Station has been identified as an option.

But the US Embassy in London are further advanced in their plans to relocate there from Grosvenor Square, which will depend—because of the cost—on Obama. And if he gives the embassy move the green light, Chelsea will have to look elsewhere.
We'd love to tell you more, but that's the extent of the Daily Mail's reporting. It wasn't even dated, just one of those disembodied "related" blurbs sitting on the bottom of a page. So we might be exceeding the limitations of excerpting for fair use, but we're not sure how to quote any less, short of maybe removing the articles and just say we're paraphrasing.

Oh Roman, don't you know that you've got to strike when the moment is right without thinking. On the bright side, at the rate your wealth is evaporating, you mightn't have to worry about a new stadium for quite some time.
