It's All San Andres' Fault: A Second Semi-Final Redux

Didier Drogba has placed blame for Chelsea's Champions League exit squarely on his shoulders after his failure to score at the Nou Camp when he got in alone on Victor Valdes.

Just kidding. Chelsea players are all about Øvrebø.

Here's a link dump in the fallout of Barca's extra-time leveler at Stamford Bridge yesterday. Click bonanza after the jump.

Chelsea players now saying there were "six or seven" decisions against them. Pretty sure by next week, it will be between 15 and 20.

Graham Poll counts four. Also the only person in London not selectively forgetting that Chelsea received a bad decision gift with Abidal's sending off. Webchat with Mr. Three Yellows is here.

Pique admits his handball could have been legitimately given, then tells Chelsea to fuck off because they got all the calls at the Nou Camp.

Sun says Drogba attacked ref and is facing a ban.

Drogba consoles self after loss by dating a man. Great pic of Ballack flashdancing with Øvrebø.

The ref had to be smuggled out of the country due to death threats. Stay classy football fans. (Oh, and now UEFA has put a gag order on Øvrebø to stop talking about the match).

No shit? headline on this one. We just wanted an excuse to mention Guardiola. Was his sideline sprint more Mourinho at Old Trafford in the CL, or Slaven Bilic from last summer's Euro?

Anytime it's a choice between 'conspiracy' and 'incompetence' always pick the latter, people.

Finally, we end with this nugget from England's Brave John Terry: ''I am fully behind Didier Drogba for the way he reacted. The man wants to win. You can see the passion that he played with during the game and the passion afterwards."

Clearly, EBJT wasn't paying any attention the entire management tenure of Phil Scolari when Drogba couldn't even be bothered to mail it in. Anyway, that's the crazy person that Terry is backing up top. "You're not angry, you're just pointing. 'Hey you, I know you. I know you.'"

Thanks to Sarah for another fantastic animated gif. And here are some decent bonus pics here, here, here, and here.

This is an answer about Drogba from that Graham Poll chat linked to below:

Drogba's behaviour was certainly a disgrace and will hopefully be dealt with in a very firm manner by UEFA. I would expect a lengthy ban which will make his participation in the Champions League next year almost non-existent.'Almost non-existent'? Hmm, obviously Poll is not a UEFA official and he could be wrong - but if that ends up being true ...

How much does that hurt Drogba's transfer value? I had been assuming Chelsea was done with the Ivorian Shitman and would be looking to ship him off (to France?). Now, what top team will want him, assuming he ends up with a lengthy CL/Europa League suspension?

Best guess- someone on the outside looking in who needs a scorer to get them over the hump. Someone not immediately affected by his (possible) Euro ban

I would think Drogba's future hinges on two things: whoever comes in to manage after Hiddink, and how committed Chelsea are to financial (self) sustainability.

But suddenly, I want to have this crazy person in the EPL if only for more potential blow-ups.

Chelsea can't continuously blame Overbo for their being knockout of the CL Final. They had a number of clear chances and they couldn't get anything past Valdez, albeit Essien's wonder strike.. If anything they should be mad at him, or maybe they'll just buy him so it doesn't happen again...

@el umlat: Like somebody who has an Arabic boatload of money, but isn't quite in Europe yet? Perhaps someone who is a little sister in their own city?

Whoa, wait.... When did Arabs buy Atlético Madrid?

I can't really take credit for the gifs; I don't make them, I just pass them along.

Hah, if Drogba goes to Man City that would kill any sort of lingering affection I have for them from the Reyna/Beasley years.

Clearly, this is how EBJT respects the Respect campaign. What a joker...great leader for the england team too.

There needs to be a reality show with ron artest, didier drogba, and michael ballack.

You've got to put Rooney in there, if only to up the groin-stomping quotient.

Tommy Smyth would be the host, naturally.
