Official documents from the disaster will be released early by the government, as they waive the 30-year rule on privacy to do so.
Documents might include police files and statements, emergency call transcripts and meeting transcripts involving then-PM Maggie Thatcher and police officers from South Yorkshire, the embattled department that is still under scrutiny for its failure to accept responsibility.
Good move, pols. Let's hope we get closer to the truth as a result.
