The Mirror Brings a New Low to Bad Photoshopping

This photo actually appeared in today's Daily Mirror. Notice anything amiss?

Yes, a hearty round of applause for the person who spent five minutes producing this lazy pile of cack, which is quite worth of Photoshop Disasters (by the way, an endlessly entertaining site).

Let's maybe start with the fact that Roque Santa Cruz's head is twice as large as Nino's. But, on a more basic level, let's also ask this question: Why did the Mirror feel the need to create this jokey photoshop in the first place? Maybe it's because the Mirror has cornered the market on worthless transfer rumors. You know, the kind where they say, "Team X is interested in signing Player Y" without any direct quotes or sourcing of info. So, might as well throw in some lazy photoshop to go with the lazy tabloid transfer rumors.

Anyway, if nothing else this pic has given me a new appreciation for Bigus' fine work in these here parts. And goodness knows he could use all the kind thoughts this week (c'mon Norwich, don't make our man cry!).

Never Captain Roque Santa Cruz

Yeah, it's kinda insulting that some sullen Paraguayan part-time striker is photoshopped in over the Lord of Liverpool, the Admiral of Anfield, the Mayor of the Mersey, Mr. Steven MBE Gerrard.

The picture looks fine to me. Isn't Santa Cruz the Liverpool captain? And hasn't he been for like 4 seasons now?

I had no idea he was out for the season with a knee injury, I figured he just sucked this year.

That's a big jersey to live up to. Have to be just so to perfect that dive in the penalty area 20 minutes in.
