Slow news day, indeed. The Interlull is in full effect. You’ll have to forgive me if I don’t have much to say about international friendlies or World Cup Qualifierzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
Instead, here’s what I’ve got in Arsenal-land:
Stan Kroenke has upped his stake to 20%. With the fat Uzbeck at 25%, and Lady Bracewell-Smith’s 16% for sale, you can see that the Arsenal board is trying to line up Kroenke as a blocking investor for any unwanted takeover bids. So far everything seems to be amicable with Kroenke, who is doing a good job of being a low-key influence on the board.
In other news, Hull City are handing over their dossier to the FA over the alleged Cesc Fabregas spitting incident. Turns out the Arseblog has an exclusive first look!
Oh and Bendtner picked up a knee injury over the weekend. Cue the smallest violin in the world.
Only 5 more days until league play starts up again. Can't. Come. Soon. Enough.
Update: Turns out Robin Van Persie picked up a knock too. Internationals truly are the worst.
