With Memorial Day almost here, it turns out that most of us will be traveling across North America this upcoming week. Wave hello if you see us on the road or at the airport. That also means that we need your help finding places to watch football. Anyone have any suggestions for the following?
- Minneapolis for the Sunday EPL matches (Precious Roy)
- Montreal for the Sunday EPL matches (Spectator)
- Lake George, NY for the CL final (Bigus)
- Puerto Vallarta, Mexico for the CL final (The Fan's Attic)
Before you make fun of Precious Roy for his not-so-exotic destination, he's attending a wedding. But please do make jokes about swine flu at the expense of one the Fan's Attic.
Also, please be extra nice to Lingering Bursitis this weekend because he's the only one who's staying home. Although he says that he might go visit his nan in Cleethorpes.

PR, either The Local or Brit's on Nicollet Mall.
PR, either of WSR's recommendations are good (but a little expensive). I'm only 10 minutes away if you want some company.
(Nicollet Mall is in downtown by the way).
I would guess Bigus is going to have a much harder time than Fan's Attic will...
Brit's is better than the Local, in my opinion. $4 Guinness during EPL matches.
And what is wrong with Minneapolis? You give Minneapolis stick but not fucking Lake George?
yeah, i'm thinking it will be pretty easy to find a bar showing the final. i just hope i don't catch swine flu or get kidnapped by some drug banditos.
@Matt: Sorry bout that! Anticipating snarky comments sometimes makes us say things we don't really mean. Any city that produced both Prince and Bob Mould is a-ok with me!
Bigus, your best bet might be heading down the Northway to Queensbury or Glens Falls. Having been stuck in that general area for work months at a time in the past, it's pretty rough.
You might be best off getting a twelver of Saranac or Utica Club and watching it in your hotel room. If you do go to Glenns Falls, Davidson Brothers Brewery should have it.
If the Brit's is downtown, that's where I'll go. Caveat: I reserve the right not to show on account of being too hungover from the wedding, but if I make it, I'll be in a Luna (the band) t-shirt. Come over, say hi and we'll watch the season end.
Steve, although PR is a gooner, i can guarantee he's a good sort with which to watch a match.
sounds good, PR. I'll try to make it. (Brit's and the Local are basically across the street from one another, by the way)
@Phil, yeah I was a bit concerned about that, but I think you're probably right.
We should try to get some sort of run-down of where UF readers are located, a la Ives's readers polls to facilitate these sort of things.
@Goat, et al, I'm all for this. Then again, I wouldn't make it to the bar PR was at in H-town...though I did get to call the match my bar showed (a usefull thing when Blackburn played Arsenal)...
Montreal (Canada) - Champs (3956 St. Laurent, just south of Duluth)
As listed on NUFC.com. None of the other requested places are listed on there, but keep an eye out. It's NUFC-centric, but I'd assume most venues will be showing some other games as well:
