An American writer at a major paper wrote a positive article about footie? I'm confused...

Anyways, I'm watching the first 45 of the Barca-Bayern match for the first time, and Barca is eviscerating them. (granted, we all know this today). But their goal in the 8th minute was 5 minutes overdue...
Ribery looks like the lone Munich player who gives a rat's ass...even Bayern's attacks look like one-off attempts, while Barcelona is constantly pressuring whatever defense Munich thinks they have...that front six looks unstoppable right now, even if the back four still have question-marks...

I liked Guardiola's comment after the game, that basically they wanted to kick the ball around to take pressure off their backline. Gameplan seemed to work well!

As for Bayern, you know it's bad when der Kaiser says that it's the worst effort he's ever seen. Klinsy to MLS and/or USMT?

I watched Liverpool live stomp ManU 4-1, and I didn't see anything like this. For all intents and purposes, this game was over 15 minutes in...knowing the final result actually undersells what Barca did. I'm at the 31st minute, and I'd expect a 6-0 final score if this was live. Barca must have yanked back the reins in the 2nd half, or Bayern grew some balls at half-time...

oh, and nice job filling in for umlaut. Can't be easy to take on that task...

Heh thanks! I have new-found appreciation for umlaut's task... although it's kind of fun actually.

If you saw this game live, I apologize, but this is insane. This is what I would imagine an EPL team playing a Blue Square Premier team would look like...oh, and Van Bommel just floored Messi, much like Mokoena did to Palacios last weekend (I'm not totally biased). Yet, Barca scored anyways...scarface has to wonder why he's still at Bayern?

Since I know nothing more happens, I'm done watching this, so I don't know "why" it stayed 4-0. That said, it should have been 6-0 when I stopped watching, and that's not presuming "good" luck...

Bayern was completely in over their heads in the first 45....
