Brace yourselves, folks. The Gareth Barry-to-Anfield saga is showing signs of life once again.
That noise you hear? Me banging my head against the wall at the thought of replacing Xabi Alonso with Gareth fuckin' Barry.

If Alonso is not good enough for Rafa, how does this make Mascherano feel?

ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Pool to buy Barry, then watch Rafa sit him and finally sell him back to Villa at a loss.
ReplyDeleteBut at least we'll have Howard Webb to blame for it all.
Rafa does know that Barry isn't Spanish, right?
ReplyDeletePlay him at left back. If Alonso gets sold, I'm done with this guy.
ReplyDeleteFor the life of me I can't see why we'd want Barry. The lad hasn't impressed me at all this season while Alonso has etched his name into the Liverpool history books on more than one occasion this season.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you Georger, if Alonso goes, I'm done with Benitez.
I want this, but only if Xabi stays. The price I keep seeing is 8 million pounds, and if Liverpool wants to play two midfielders that sit back, they have to have more depth than just Lucas fucking Leiva. Plus, he a left midfielder whenever we need to play a 4-4-2, and can slot in at left back if needed. There are other places that need improvement, (Right Back, right back, and oh yeah, RIGHT BACK) but this is a move that could really help their depth issues.
ReplyDeleteAs long as we get Delph or Defour, I kinda don't care.
ReplyDeleteI can't see Barry fitting into Liverpool's scheme. Who's place does he take? I wish managers would stop buying for the sake of spending money.
ReplyDeletePlus I like Barry at Villa.
although, Pool fans, how's about a Barry for Agger straight swap?
ReplyDeleteIf you want someone who is made of glass and doesn't really have interest in soccer, go for it. I'd love to keep Agger, but he needs to work on his attitude, he's a big ole bag of Danish sulk.
ReplyDeleteThey should sell Lucas and promote Spearing to cover his spot. And they still have Plessis, who is not much of a step down from Lucas and he's younger.
