Guy Ritchie actually makes a good flick

This is way better than Swept Away.

  1. So is this kid supposed to be a Dutch international? And they are playing Portugal in the last game? And if this is a Guy Ritchie movie, where is Vinnie Jones?

  5. Uh Keith... Can't be Van Persie. That 30 second commercial is longer than any stretch he's gone without being uninjured all year.

  7. Not to ruin the fun, but going back to the "Just do it" the point of most Nike advertising is to make you believe that you can be just like your favorite pros (or you can once you don a pair of Nike shoes). The fact that this is POV only helps convey that delusional message (e.g. Hey, this is you getting a handful of Materazzi). Jeez, don't you people watch any POV porn?

It is accurate in that I would totally get schooled by Ronaldo and I would probably throw up from running stairs.

  9. I'm just saying. Clearly one of us is underestimating the number of 'tards in the world. I'm more irritated that I thoroughly enjoyed something of Guy Ritchie's.

  10. Yeah, I guess that was sort of my point too. I mean, if it's supposed to be YOU, why choose a Dutch international? Does Nike anticipate a lot of Dutch viewership on FSC during EPL games?

  11. i would guess they wanted to use a european team because of euro 2008

did see it on tv for the first time this morning during the liverpool game, havent seen it anywhere else since i saw it on the net earlier in the week

  12. Re: Choosing the Dutch. Who doesn't like Dutch people—legal hookers and weed... what's not to love? Sure, some people might not, but I bet Nike spent millions to McKinsey or Bain to tell them which National side generated the least animosity among fans.

I mean can you really be bothered to work up hatred for Arjen Robben? Even when he was at Chelski... meh.

  15. mike georger-

Would it blow your mind if I said I knew Jesse and worked with him 10 years ago? Probably not. Us famous people always hang out together.

  16. The reason its the Dutch national team is because they would only pick a national side that they sponsor, which leaves them with...Holland, Portugal, the US...that's about it. Probably wanted to do European teams just because, let's face it, it's more realistic for a Dutch national to get picked up by Arsenal than some kid in Ohio playing for AYSO.
