Bastos seems to fit the bill. I only worry that, given his international aspirations, he wouldn't view a trip to Spurs in the same way as Berbatov did: as a launching pad to a Big 4 side.philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11873082204015241250noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4234337357347181796.post-80496686987054239192009-05-14T09:01:00.000-04:002009-05-14T09:01:00.000-04:00A few things - first, his main goal is to be calle...A few things - first, his main goal is to be called up to the Brazilian national team and I believe that he will do whatever necessary to achieve that goal. Right now he is Lille's leading scorer (12, I believe) and assist man (8 or 9), which also put him in good numbers for Ligue 1 overall. He recently reupped his contract with Lille until 2012, but since the club had slipped out of a European slot (they currently sit in 6th place) he has been a little more vocal about wanting the club to succeed in order for him to stick around. I think he would be a good fit at Spurs and is definitely capable of EPL (suck it, Barclay's!) play - he, like many other Brazilians, is a free-kick specialist who has a dangerous left foot, which can be slightly more difficult for GKs to deal with - particularly since he has an incredibly hard shot.

My guess is that the transfer comes through during the summer months because I don't think that Lille are going to make up the ground to get into a European spot. The NY Kidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07051102990736064962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4234337357347181796.post-13551045018552265642009-05-14T08:47:00.000-04:002009-05-14T08:47:00.000-04:00NYK, what can you tell me about Michel Bastos and ...NYK, what can you tell me about Michel Bastos and how serious he is about wanting to leave Lille?philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11873082204015241250noreply@blogger.com
